It is being
reported that U2 frontman Bono recently underwent emergency back surgery. Reports are starting to surface that Bono suffered a herniated -- or slipped -- disc while rehearsing for his band's upcoming tour "360 Degrees". This is an interesting development because a herniated disc is a common injury in the motor vehicle accident litigation context. We often represent clients with this type of injury. And each will tell us how painful they injury is -- that it affects everything they try to do -- from work -- to sleep -- to cleaning the dishes. The problem is that the insurance defense industry (the ones that defend your personal injury actions) have this argument that herniated discs are merely one aspect of the aging process, that everyone has one, and that they are not painful. In other words, they call our client's liars. Now, we always knew our clients are telling the truth, and we have world renowed doctors who support our client's claims. But, now, when the defendants call our clients liars, instead of pointing to the medical literature, we can just say, if you think a herniated disc doesn't hurt, just ask Bono if he is pain.
