Man Loses NY Medical Malpractice Suit Over Wife’s Cosmetic Surgery Death

When 42-year-old Kay Creegan of Limerick went in to have a facelift, a preventable complication caused her to have a heart attack. She died two days later from complications from the failed surgery.

This week, her husband, Liam, lost a New York civil suit against an anesthesiologist and a nurse who he said were partially responsible for the death. However, last year, Creegan won a $2.1 million New York medical malpractice settlement from Dr Michael Sachs, the surgeon who a judge said was negligent. Sachs has a history of 33 NY medical malpractice lawsuits for other botched cosmetic surgeries. In addition, the nurse’s insurance company reached a settlement with Creegan for $1 million.

If you or someone you love has been the victim of a botched cosmetic surgery or another medical malpractice incident in New York, it is important to speak to an experience medical malpractice lawyer.
