Norwich Drunk Driver Sentenced After Fatal NY Car Crash

Following a serious New York car accident that left one teenager dead and another with an amputation, a Norwich teen has been sentenced to three to nine years in prison.

The NY car crash occurred in April 2009, when Trebor Hoxie, now 18 years old, was driving four friends after a night of partying. When the van crashed, three people were seriously injured and one young woman, 18-year-old Ashley Crisell, was pronounced dead at Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City. The accident occurred at 5:30 early on a Sunday morning.

Hoxie, who was driving drunk and can’t recall the car accident, plead guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide. He only held a learner’s permit at the time of the crash. The sentence was part of a plea arrangement. Otsego County Court Judge Brian D. Burns presided over the case.
