Can I sue my employer if I am hurt on a construction site?

A: No - you can't sure your employer.  But that doesn't mean you don't have a case.  You can sue other parties or companies that are on the project.  For example, if the company for which you are employed was  hired by the general contractor to do work, and you're injured while doing that work,  you might be able to bring a lawsuit against the general contractor and the owner of the property.

The law in NY is very favorable for construction workers.  The property owner and the general contractor remain responsible for many of the activities and tasks on the job.  If you find yourself in this situation,  contact an attorney who has experience with this aspect of the law.
