What do you think of that famous McDonald's case where the women won millions of dollars when she was burned by spilled coffee?

A: We think the case was right.  But, you need to look closely at the facts.  The simple truth is that McDonalds was serving scalding hot coffee and knew that it would likely burn someone if the coffee spilled.  McDonalds chose to ignore the risk because they knew the coffee would taste like garbage if they lowered the brewing temperature.  The problem was that McDonalds was using inferior products and the higher temperature would mask this.  Also of note was that McDonalds had hundreds of complaints about the coffee and how hot it was but ignored the complaints.  In short, McDonalds thought that it was more important to make money that consider the safety of others.  For a great article on the issue, check this out.
