Motorcycles offer little to no protection of the driver if they are involved in an accident. More motorcyclists are seriously injured or killed when involved in an accident than drivers of any other vehicle. Westchester, New York was the setting for two motorcycle crashes last Sunday.
Motorcycle Accident on Winnetou Road
Alexander Herrera-Washington, a 25 year old Greenburgh man was traveling on Winnetou Road on his motorcycle around 2am. He apparently lost control of the motorcycle and crashed near Leather Stocking Lane. He was admitted to the intensive care unit at the Westchester Medical Center, and people are asked to come forward if they have any information about the accident or may have seen it happen – you can call Greenburgh detectives at 914-682-5325.
Motorcycle Accident on Dobbs Ferry Road
Also on Sunday, around 5pm, another driver was involved in a motorcycle accident that resulted in his death. The man has not been identified. The driver of the motorcycle attempted to make a left turn off route 100B onto Sprain Brook Parkway, and was struck by a white Toyota. No one in the Toyota was injured and charges have not yet been made, but police say alcohol was likely not a factor in the crash.
