Wedding Day Turns Tragic for New York Bride and Groom

Posted on Sep 19, 2011

A New York groom lost his life in an ATV crash just hours after he was married in Connecticut. Nicholas Hoag, a Wingdale resident, died in Dover Plains NY Saturday night while riding as a passenger on an all-terrain vehicle.

Hoag, 25, had just married twenty-two year old Amber Satori earlier on Saturday. He was killed when the ATV hit a tree and then overturned on him. Hoag was trapped underneath the vehicle until rescue workers could arrive at the scene.

Once the man was removed from under the vehicle, he was taken to New Milford Hospital where officials pronounced him dead. His death is being attributed to blunt force trauma to the head, abdomen, and chest.

Hoag's brother was the driver of the ATV and was charged by police with driving while intoxicated. He was admitted to the hospital with injuries that were said to be non-life threatening.

The bride's father was interviewed and called the situation a ‘living nightmare'.

Calls made to the parents of the victim were not being taken as of press time.
